Happy Friday!

I hope you had a great week! The weather is finally warming up and I cant wait to enjoy the sunshine.

Today is another Friday Finds...Wallpaper Edition!
I love patterned paper, wrapping paper, and well...all kinds of paper so it's no surprise paper on a wall would be my jam.  The texture, color, pattern, and variety wallpaper offers just can't be beat.

I recently talked about how I plan on putting wallpaper in our Entry Way and in our Upstairs Bathroom. In preparing for those mood boards I led an exhaustive search for wallpaper all across Pinterest and the internet so today I'm sharing my fav's with you!

Aren't they gorgeous?! I want every single one. I may have to add wallpaper to my list of problems...like lamps and rugs.  Sigh.

I'll be the first to admit that quality wallpaper isn't cheap, it's definitely on the splurge list. To cut down on costs try using it to:

• Line the back of a bookcase
• Wallpaper only the top portion of the wall
• An accent wall
• Placing the paper in frames
• Decoupage on furniture
• Place under glass or Plexiglas on a desktop

Feature Friday| 5 O'clock Design

Today I'm here with you as part of a new feature called:

It's no secret that I think the blogging community is the bomb.com. I have "met" the most lovely and heart warming people who inspire me daily AND I want to share their loveliness with all of you! So alternating with Friday Finds will be Feature Friday. 

Today to kick off this new series is Sarah from 5 O'Clock Design Co. You guys will fall in love with her style and sweet personality...and she has the cutest baby boy to boot! She is an Interior Designer and Blogger with something to offer any budget from E-Design services to a complete reinventing of your space. What makes Sarah even more special is her contribution to the community. She offers 10% of all her profits to these organizations as a way of giving back. 

Fellow lover of Mood Boards, Gold Spray Paint, and practical DIY's, we were destined to be friends. Her style is fun and bold with a vintage/glam vibe, I just adore her! She's currently renovating her home in Central New York while juggling being a wife and mom and business owner/blogger. No wonder she loves coffee so much...it's mom fuel at this point! Speaking of coffee, grab a cup and follow along as she shares with us a bit more about the face behind the blog! 

1. What led to the transition from decorating for fun to starting your business, 5 O'clock Design Co?

I feel like I've been decorating for fun since I was about 8 years old; looking back, the transition to turning it into a business was a natural one but it took the right set of circumstances and a little bit of bravery to make that jump. I didn't go back to college until after I got married and when I was in my last year of design school, my husband and I found out we were pregnant with our son. Knowing that I wanted to be at home with him until he started school pushed me to start my own business. It is such a privilege to do both of the things I love--spend every day with our little boy and still do design work for clients!

2.       How long have you been blogging and what has surprised you the most about it?

I started blogging almost a year ago. It has surprised me how much time it takes to do a project, document it, and then write about it! That probably sounds cliche, but seriously!! I am always forgetting to take pictures along the way because I get so wrapped up in doing whatever I am working on. One of my best "remembering to take pictures" projects was these agate inspired coasters. 

3.What has been your favorite DIY project?

When it is done, I think the Kitchen Renovation will be my favorite, but for right now, my mid century night stand makeover Mid Century Night Stand Makeover is pretty high on the list. I was really excited when I spotted the potential in them (you should see the before picture!) and they did not disappoint, I absolutely love how they turned out! 

4. Living in Central NY, what is your favorite part of living in the city?

Hahaha, ok so I think maybe you think that I live in NYC, but the Central NY region is actually further upstate towards lake Ontario and Canada. Don't worry, this happens everywhere I go. If I say I'm from NY people automatically think the city. I love how many things are within a day's drive of us. In less than 6 hours we can be in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, DC, NYC, the Adirondacks, Toronto, etc. I love travel and outdoorsy adventures so the location is great! I also really appreciate being part of a smaller city--I know a lot of local small business owners and we have a wonderfully supportive community here.  

5. Do you and your husband work on projects together? Or are you the design/decorator and he does the install? Or a combo of the two? 

He actually laughed out loud when I read him this question. He hates house projects. No, really! The number of things I've talked him into helping with is a sign that he truly loves me. Usually I try to tackle things myself but if it's something I really need a second set of hands or eyes for, he's always willing to pitch in. He also has a great eye for design, which sometimes surprises me. I'm used to guys not having a strong opinion about home decor and wall color but it mostly works because we like similar aesthetics or he defers to my "professional opinion." Lol 

6.      What is your favorite go to Paint color?

This is a difficult question because I think it totally depends on the space. I just painted our kitchen Paper White by Benjamin Moore and I really like it. I think it could fit a lot of different rooms well. It is a light gray with strong blue undertones--really fresh and bright!

7.      Who are your top 3 favorite bloggers?

I am slightly obsessed with Emily Henderson of Style by Emily Henderson. Her blog is so full of personality and her style is both approachable and polished.

 I also love Gwen Hefner of The Makerista--I wish I was brave enough to embrace color the way she does! 

 Another favorite is Jenny Komenda of Little Green Notebook. From the DIYs, Ikea hacks, and overall amazing style, this is one of my favorite blogs to read! 

8.      That gorgeous electric blue sofa has been a big hit! How would you describe your home style?

Thank you! Would you believe I got that sofa for $200 on Craigslist!? It is probably my favorite thing in our home! Hmm, I would describe my style as a mix of minimalist, eclectic, and a bit traditional. I love the clean lines of mid century furniture, lots of shades of blue, uncluttered rooms, some coastal elements, and bold geometric prints paired with florals. See, I'm all over the board, I guess! 

9.      What items are worth the splurge and what is worth saving when it comes to home décor?

I think area rugs are almost always worth spending more on. They are something you usually have for years and a quality rug goes a long way in elevating a space. A few vintage pieces in a home add a lot of depth and character. Although I love to scour Craigslist, flea markets, and thrift stores for these, I will pay a little more for just the right piece. For a combination splurge/save, I prefer spending more on great fabric and then sewing my own curtains. With decor items that get switched out seasonally (or with my mood) I stick to inexpensive items from Target, Home Goods, and second hand finds. The exception to this is throw pillows--I find it is makes a big difference to use high quality fabrics and down inserts. Again though, this doesn't always have to mean shelling out big bucks. I recently found some beautiful linen pillow covers from H&M for like $12. A splurge I've been contemplating forever is wall paper. There are so many gorgeous prints and I have a feeling this project will be coming in the near future. 

10.   What is your secret to success in managing a blog, business, and home renovation?

Hmm... I think the biggest thing has been flexibility. There has been a huge learning curve to balancing the responsibilities of mom, wife, and business owner. I've had to evaluate and re-evaluate my priorities, goals, and definition of success in all of these roles. Letting the pieces flow together and being willing to let some things go has been crucial.  I'm type A to the core--a planner, strategist, and organizer so this has been a difficult lesson, but I'm getting there. I had too long of a to-do list when I started out and I was constantly frustrated. Now I only take on one or two design projects at a time, I plan out work and family time better, and take a deep breath and try to be ok with my kitchen renovation dragging out for 4 months.

Friday Finds| Runners

Happy Friday Folks!

I'm back to today with another Friday Find's!

It's a well known fact I am a hoarder of rugs, in fact my rug "collection" is so extensive we have a rug graveyard in the unfinished part of our basement for those rugs that no longer have a home. True Story.

This week I'm on the hunt for a runner for the kitchen so I thought I'd do a round up of some great options! 

My go-to rug store has to be Rugs USA for the value, selection, and speedy (always free it seems) shipping. I've ordered from them several times, because I have a problem, and I'm never disappointed. Now, let's talk runners! Here's my round up of my favorite options at Rugs USA right now. 

Some girls want purse's and shoes...I want allllll the rugs! What can I say? They make my heart happy. Nothing can change the whole look and feel of a room like a rug. It's your rooms best accessory! 

Here's the breakdown:

1. Epiphany Stripes Rug is on sale for only $65 and comes in grey, yellow, or blue. I'm a sucker for stripes!

2. Homespun Hexagon Key Rug is on sale for $59. I love the graphic print...it's modern and edgy and would be totally unexpected in the kitchen.

3. Homespun Diamond Trellis Rug is on sale for $75. It comes in several colors that seem to be selling out! I LOVE this rug, especially in navy or black. It's uber fun and sophisticated and it needs to be in my life.

4. Windsor Overdyed Grove Rug is on sale for $60.  The gorgeous jewel toned colors this rug is available in are yellow, violet, turquoise, pink, red and purple. This is a gorgeous rug and for $60 how could you not put this in the shopping cart? The bohemian style is on point.

5. Keno Moroccan Shag Rug is on sale for $63. This caught my eye because I have the larger version layered in my living room. Now having a white rug in the kitchen gives me pause but I have no doubts it would look luxurious. Who doesn't want to stand on a plush rug while cooking? Knowing me that thing would have spaghetti sauce all over it day one. #messycook

6. Radiante Nuo Chevron Ikat Rug is on sale for $65. I love ikat and I love chevron so the marriage of the two is pretty sweet. This rug comes in medium blue (my fave), mustard, soft grey, grey and blue. 

7. Homespun Trellis Rug is on sale for $59.  The chartreuse color had me at hello but it also comes in blue navy and gold. I love the pop of color this rug offers along with the graphic print. Can't go wrong with any of these colors!

8. Natura Handspun Jute Rug is on sale for $60.  I LOVE jute rugs. I have several in my house right now. They are a great for layering rugs as they are often less expensive than similar sized rugs. This neutral color runner is a great way to add texture to the room. 

Pretty awesome round up 'eh? Can you believe every rug is under $100! So if you're looking for a new rug (who isn't?) then swoop one of these up before they are gone!

Friday Finds| High/Low

Woohoo! It's Friday friends!!!

We've been busy over here at Restyle It Wright this week!

On Monday we talked about a Glam and Chic Living Room mood board that makes my heart happy.

Tuesday was unseasonably warm here in Michigan so I turned to instagram to share in my spring excitement.

Thursday I finally got the wall rack I had been teasing about up on the wall. We love how it adds to the industrial elements of our son's room. Full reveal next week!

Today I'm back with another Friday Find's inspired by some magazines I received in the mail.

Who doesn't love a good High/Low? I know I do! I'm always looking to recreate a piece for a fraction of the cost...hey that money saved leads to more fancy things around the house so I'm all in.

Today's high/low will feature my favorite topic...lighting! Lights are the peanut butter to my jelly. They are my jam. My one and only. As most of you know lamps, chandeliers, and pendants can get super expensive. I have to save money where ever I can on these babies so I can buy MORE lamps! Super logical right?

While thumbing through a few magazines I received in the mail I couldn't help but notice a lamp here or chandelier there being sold for almost double what I had seen at alternate stores either in person or online. I vote for save over splurge in this department.

Let's dive in:

Shades of Light is a lamp lovers dream. Gold trimmed drum shades, polished nickel pendants, wood bead chandeliers...the list goes on and on and so does my yearning for each and every one.  My eyes are bigger than my wallet often so I begin searching for less expensive alternatives. Here are a few great high/low examples.

Let's start with this Gold Chandelier. Sleek and simple and uber trendy; Quatrefoil's are one on my favorite design elements.

Amazing huh? They are both beautiful in their own right but with $200 difference in the price tag I know which one I'm going with. The top chandelier is from World Market (Gold Quatrefoil 3 Light Pendant lamp) and currently on sale! You can find the 'Contempo Arabesque' Shades of Light chandelier here.

Modern Farm House Decor is all the rage thanks to JoJo and Fixer Upper. These industrial style pendants would look great in a modern farm house. World Market wins again in this next high/low challenge.

 I'll take the $150 savings on the World Market version, that'll pay for a great art print or heck...even another lamp!

Now how about a great table lamp? I'm shocked at how expensive these can be! I'm a 'you get what you pay for' kinda girl, but table lamps are rarely something I feel the need to splurge on because their cheaper look a-likes...well, look alike! Here's a great example from Wayfair and Target.

The target version of the popular gourd style lamp comes in well under the Wayfair price, but to be fair the lamp shade is not included in the Target version. Considering you could either purchase one around $15 or even use one you may have lying around (guilty, here) this would still put the price around $60.
They are both gorgeous table lamps so you can't go wrong, but I'll take buying two for a console table or as bedside lamps over the price of one!

Our final high/low challenge is a high end Pottery Barn floor lamp and budget friendly Wayfair lamp.

Now that's a price difference! This Pottery Barn Spool Brass lamp is fabulous and fantastic. Don't like the price tag? Go for the look alike over at Wayfair with the Pellston Floor Lamp. If Gold is the look you're going for, grab a can of spray paint and have at it with this Pellston lamp.  At $54, what do you have to lose? Saving $200 is totally worth the extra effort in my opinion.

Friday Finds: Anthro Favs

Happy Friday! It's supposed to be in the 50s here in Michigan this weekend (break out the shorts and tees kinda weather) but alas we'll be stuck in hockey rinks and closets. The mister is completing Drew's closet reno this weekend, which brings us so much closer to his room reveal! I can't wait!

Today I want to share with you something new to the blog, a series I'm starting here at Restyle It Wright called:

The idea is to feature products from stores I love, inspirational blog images and posts, and any helpful tips I come across to help you make your home more lovely and styled!  

I don't know about you but I spend some time A LOT of time online perusing pinterest, bloglovin, and online stores looking for inspiration. So, I thought why not spread the love and compile lists of some of my favorite finds along the way. Today, I'm going to feature one of my all time favorite places, Anthropologie.  My closest friends and family know it's a problem and that I really should be checked into a rehab program for how much I LOVE this store.  It's a magical store filled with sweet smelling candles, beautiful textiles, and unique decor pieces that I just can't get enough of. Oh, and there are clothes. But who has time to look at those when I have a wall of the prettiest mugs and plates staring at me? Sigh. 

If you follow me on Instagram then you saw these gorgeous measuring cups and whisk I recently snagged on sale.

Simply gorgeous, right? They are almost too pretty to cook with! Pink, gold, and florals make me weak in the knees. 

My collection of Anthropologie items has grown in my house over the years and today I'm going to share with you some of my favs that have made the cut!

Aside from the curtains (which are worth every penny) everything is under $30! 

  I love how versatile the pieces are. Here are a few ideas!

Floral Plate:

Centerpiece with potted succulent on top

On Nightstand to place watches, earrings, and necklaces

On a coffee table for remote controls

A pretty way to display that gorgeous volcano candle

Striped Hook:

Attach to stained wood in an entry way

Placed in bathroom for towels/robe

Placed in closet as a lovely way to display scarfs and belts

Display pictures hung with ribbon as part of a gallery wall

The possibilities are endless! At under $30, bringing some Anthro love into your home just became do-able. These also make great gifts! I've given this mug several times as a housewarming gift.
